Provence Marinaside is Getting a Facelift

After 13 years at its Yaletown location, Alessandra and Jean-Francis Quaglia have decided to give their Provence Marinaside restaurant a full facelift.

The renovation has been assigned to Trine Hendriksen of Hendriksen Design and Styling with orders to gut every room (except the kitchen) right back to the framework. Hendriksen plans to retain a design that evokes the warmth and charm of the Provence countryside while making the new look fresh and modern.

Says Hendriksen, "A new feature wine wall will add a sense of drama and focus to the room; and with False Creek and the seawall walk across the street, it was an easy decision to open up the window wall to the fresh air, welcoming guests to stay to drink in the view. The whole effect is airy, bright – sophisticated but natural.”

None of this will be quick fix. To accomplish the job the restaurant will be closed for three to six weeks, starting after brunch service on February 15th.  However TWB (The Wine Bar) next door will be taking up the slack during the closure by serving Marinaside's full breakfast, lunch, and brunch menus during the day and a special 'Provence Favourites' Menu at night.

The Quaglias are planning a series of videos and photos to keep patrons updated on the progress – a real time reality show – with all the trials and triumphs of the renovation as it unfolds. You’ll find them posted on Provence’s web site and Facebook page throughout the renovation period.
