In Cold Season - Bee Better

Here’s a new Dragon's Den- approved product that’s getting some local buzz, and just in time for sniffle season.

Honibe Honey Lozenges, a Canadian product out of PEI, is the world’s first lozenge made from 100% pure dried honey.  And that’s what makes it golden, because not only is honey reputed to be a natural antiseptic, it’s also rated lower on the glycemic index than sugar.

Yes, honey is still a form of sugar, but we’d use these drops because they are 99.99 percent pure, with only a small amount of naturally derived menthol and eucalyptus, and without any of the polysyllabic artificial ingredients that usually come listed on the packaging of cold care items.

Only 10 calories per lozenge, the two flavour combos (honey with menthol, and honey with lemon) actually taste quite good. So you could pop them like candy if you had a mind to. However, they are really intended for the temporary relief of sore throat and nasal congestion.

Available in blister packs of 10 for convenient pocket storage. In Vancouver, you can find them at London Drugs.
