A New Farmers Market for Main St. Station

The latest from the people at YOUR FARMERS MARKET :

After several months of consultation with the City, a Farmers Market has been approved for Station Street adjacent to Thornton Park (parallel to Main Street and intersecting Terminal Avenue to the south). This location has great transit access - being near several major bus routes and the Main Street Skytrain Station. There is also ample parking in the area for those driving in. It is also a crossroads of neighbourhoods - Chinatown, Strathcona, False Creek and Mount Pleasant. The new market will open on June 10th and will run every Wednesday from 3 p.m. to  7 p.m. until October 21. It will feature approximately 40 vendors. See a map of this location here .

[Our Note:]  By the way ... the Station Street location will make Chef Rob Belcham 's and Tom Doughty 's nearby Campagnolo restaurant a handy spot for a late lunch or early dinner for the market shoppers. It would be historically appropriate as the site where Campagnolo is located once housed a cafe that serviced travellers commuting in and out of the city via the train station. Check the window ledge in the lounge area. It shows the original signage tilework that the restaurant uncovered during renovation.
