Quinta Ferreira Syrah Receives Lieutenant Governor’s Award

Quinta Ferreira Estate Winery, is proud to announce that they have been awarded a
2011 Lieutenant Governor’s Award for Excellence in British Columbia Wines for their 2008 Quinta Ferreira Syrah.

This prestigious award “recognizes and honours excellence in wines made from 100% grapes, grown and processed within the province.”  Of the 309 wines that were submitted from 83 wineries across the province, the Quinta Ferreira 2008 Syrah was one of eleven wines selected for the award.

“We are very honoured to have won this coveted award,” says Michael Ferreira, winemaker, Quinta Ferreira Estate Winery. “Producing wines is a passion and this award confirms that my enjoyment for making wine is recognized in every bottle.”

The 2008 Quinta Ferreira Syrah exhibits intense peppercorn with aromas of blackberry fruit, raspberry jam, and black cherry and is an excellent pairing to grilled meats.  The 2008 Syrah can be purchased at the winery as well as from several VQA stores throughout BC.
