BLASTED CHURCH MIXED BLESSINGS 2008
The latest bottle from Blasted Church Winery is "Mixed Blessings" - a combo of white varietals.
Like all Blasted Church label art before it, this one too is loaded with whimsy and suspicious local references. Obviously we are endorsing inter-racial marriage here, but who is being married to whom? Comments from the wine wags include:
"The bridesmaid looks shifty, the groom looks guilty, who's been stomping on who's crush pad?"
"It's a country wedding and they are all first cousins."
"That's what comes from Social Media dating."
"Actually, it's a double wedding and the two dudes are tying the knot, likewise the two women."
Oh, whatever....
Here's the expert tasting notes from our wine guy in the Okanagan,

Citrus, tangerine and grass envelope your senses as hints of toast and green olive round off the flavours. A very smooth and polished mouth feel open up to apple and peach flavours with a very soft apple skin finish. This wine has put on the stilettos and is looking to get lucky. An eclectic blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris and a touch of Ehrenfelser. A great wine that delivers more than you would expect.
