Glowbal Restaurant Group officially welcomes Toronto native
Josh Wolfe to its well established culinary team as Executive Chef of
COAST Restaurant. Recently lured - by the culinary freedom and plethora of local ingredients - into the top post at COAST, he is set to offer guests his freshest culinary inspirations.
"Josh is a dynamic chef of considerable skill and talent," says
Emad Yacoub, proprietor of Glowbal Restaurant Group. "We have been to Toronto twice to meet with him and finally lured him to Vancouver to be a part of our team."
"COAST's dining philosophy is about taking simple, local and sustainable products and tying in coastal regions from around the world," says Wolfe. "Am I excited to add my own personal twist to the menu? Absolutely! Vancouver's vibrant offerings have been a rich source of inspiration, and I look forward to sharing my creations through a new menu."
Wolfe's newest creations include:
Coastal Teaser Lobster Corn Dog $5
cocktail sauce
Starter Jonah Crab Burgers $13
tempura beets, truffled soy
Main Arctic Char $29
truffle dusted, Alsatian sauerkraut, black trumpet mushrooms, saffron potatoes
Wolfe began his cooking career at
Centro Grill and Wine Bar in Toronto in 1998. His skills and insight were bolstered in mid-2002 when Wolfe was invited by the chef de cuisine of Centro,
David Lee, to travel to London. Here, Wolfe spent time at
Anton Mossiman's
Belfry, a private dining room, as well as
the Dorchester and
Le Souffle, in the
Hotel Intercontinental. After returning to Toronto, Wolfe joined
The Fifth as Sous Chef, where he assisted the restaurant in achieving first place in
Toronto Life Magazine's 2003 ratings. Since then, Wolfe has held positions as Sous Chef and Chef at
Thuet Cuisine and
Lobby Lounge & Restaurant in downtown Toronto.
