A NEW PASTRY CHEF FOR BRIX RESTAURANT AND GEORGE ULTRA LOUNGE
(
Edited from the press release.)
Managing Partners and Proprietors
Patrick Mercer and
David Hannay are pleased to welcome
Lisa Perkins to their
Brix Restaurant & Wine Bar and
George Ultra Lounge.
Taking over the already excellent bread and pastry program from Chef
Michael Sonsmann at Brix will not be a challenge for Lisa. The talented pastry chef has already led the pasty kitchen at top-rated Vancouver restaurants such as
Raincity Grill and the
Opus Hotel’s
Elixir. Lisa attended the
Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts in Vancouver, graduating top in her class in Baking and Pastry Arts. Most recently she has been perfecting her chocolate making skills at
Chocolate Arts, where she has worked for the past 3½ years. Previous to that, Lisa spent two years as the Pastry Chef at Raincity Grill.
Having a dedicated pastry chef and baker on staff is a luxury few restaurants can justify, so a restaurant needs to feel that their pastry program is important. At Brix, having an in-house pastry chef gives them the ability to offer more to weddings and corporate functions, as well as the confidence of knowing a full production of fresh baked products is always on hand to meet any needs.
Brix Restaurants and Wine Bar will offers Chef Perkins' full dessert menu of sweets and cakes, as well as daily fresh baked breads, Monday through Thursday from 5 p.m. until 12:30 a.m., and from 5 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday. George Ultra Lounge will also feature a full dessert menu from Monday through Saturday until 1:30 a.m.
Brix patio, is Vancouver’s only outdoor courtyard without restrictions on how late guests may linger. It's the perfect spot to finish your night with dessert and coffee or a special dessert wine.
