THE OUTSIDE WORLD

To quote New York Magazine:"They're sweaty, profane, covered with tattoos, and totally unavailable on both days and nights — what woman can resist that, right? Yes, chefs are the ultimate sex objects for a certain sort of girl, as a piece in this week's Time Out New York points out. But you knew that already, didn't you?"

And as seen above left, the first photos of Meryl Streep decked out as Julia Child are starting to leak into the Bloggo zone. It is also being reported that actor Stanley Tucci has been cast to play her husband, Paul Child, in the upcoming Julia Child bio pic. Should be fun. Although they will probably have to dig a trench for Tucci to stand in during his scenes next to Streep. Julia was 6' 2" and as Paul often remarked, "a whole lot of woman".

How they see us: - Exhibit # 2: ...Walked through Chinatown next, of Vancouver...was trying to find a new luggage bag thing, b/c apparently, the airport ppl had ripped out the handle of one of our bags. Tried not to venture too close to East Hastings (a street?), b/c that place was literally crawling with zombies. Some of them actually wandered onto Main St. and East Pender to bug people for money. Later on, we drove through that street on the way to other places, and there were mobs of them gathered together, sharing drugs and other strange substances that they seemed to want to keep hidden. "

Lost in space:
...Grade 10 grad - aka Jr. Prom was more or less ridiculous. The only thing I really remember was where I got my dress, and how unbelievably awful it was. The new store in our mall at the time was Jacob, so I was adamant my dress came from there. It was floor length, some sort of spandex blend, black with tiny white polka dots, and had skinny little spaghetti straps. For those of you who don't already have the brutal visual, I'll add that I was a very busty 15 year old, just to throw you over the edge. My only memory of the evening was at the restaurant. After whatever planned event the school had put on, a bunch of us girls went to the Cactus Club for a late night dinner. We spent the entire time flirting with the good looking servers assigned to our table. Keep in mind that we were all 15! We continued by getting all the 'boys' (I'm pretty sure they were all at least in their early twenties) to sign our napkins so that we could have a souvenir. I don't know how I wasn't mortified! I am now just writing about it.
