Raincity Grill Takes 100 Mile Menu on the Road

RAINCITY GRILL TAKES 100 MILE MENU ON THE ROAD

(Directly from the pres release)

Vancouver, BC… This fall, Vancouver hotspot Raincity Grill will be taking its signature 100 Mile Menu on the road. On Friday, September 28th, join Chef de Cuisine Andrea Carlson at Oliver, BC’s Tinhorn Creek Vineyards for a ‘100 Mile’ meal paired with the newest releases from the winery’s Oldfield’s Collection.

For over a year now, Raincity Grill has featured a “100 Mile Menu, a menu using ingredients that are produced within 100 miles of Vancouver. For just one night this September, in conjunction with the Okanagan Fall Wine Festival, Raincity Grill will bring this popular concept to Tinhorn Creek Vineyards. This event garners particular excitement for Chef de Cuisine Andrea Carlson; being more than 100 miles from Vancouver will give her the opportunity to source ingredients from an entirely new area – the bountiful orchards and farms of the Okanagan.

Equally excited is the team at Tinhorn Creek Vineyards. Says winemaker Sandra Oldfield, “We have been working towards this philosophy for over a year now. Our wines are totally local and the bounty of food products we have within 100 miles is almost endless. We know this will be an evening to remember and hopefully our Okanagan population will adopt this 100 mile philosophy.

For this exclusive event, Carlson will create a multi-course dinner designed to complement the exceptional wines of the Oldfield’s Collection – 2004 Merlot, 2004 Syrah, 2006 2Bench, as well as others. Tinhorn Creek Winemaker Sandra Oldfield will also be on hand during the event, speaking about her wines and answering questions. Reservations are required for this ‘one night only’ event. Tickets are $95 and may be purchased from Tinhorn Creek at 1-888-484-6467.

Locality, regionality, and seasonality comprise the West Coast concept that defines Raincity Grill. As a celebration of everything Vancouver, it only makes sense that the cuisine is dedicated to the bounty of our backyard as Chef de Cuisine, Andrea Carlson has demonstrated with her regional tasting menus. Carlson works with small lot farms around BC dedicated, like Raincity Grill, to products that are local, regional and seasonal. Overlooking English Bay in the heart of Vancouver’s West End, take in the ever changing seasons of Vancouver by way of the view and the food of Raincity Grill.
