NEWS FROM JOIE (from the Press Release)
Team Joie
With Joie’s growing wine production, we are thrilled to welcome Kenji Hodgson as our assistant winemaker. Kenji has co-authored the books Have A Glass and Had A Glass, and writes on and reviews wine. After working a vintage in Japan and at Red Rooster, he looks forward to small-production winemaking at Joie.
Under Construction
Joie plants! We are in the throes of planting our four acres to Moscato Giallo and Gewurztraminer. In the spirit of our sustainable philosophy, we aim to give the same care and attention to our vines as we give to our wines. In addition to our planting, the foundation and frame of our new winery building are in place and we will be operating from our home site for the 2007 vintage. The winemaking team looks forward to our spacious new facilities and equipment.
Wines Sold Out!
Thank you to all of our customers for supporting the release of the 2006 vintage. The wines are now sold out, but you can still enjoy them in BC’s best restaurants and for a limited time you will find them available at the following list of premium private wineshops. We are also proud to announce that the Noble Blend is now available in Alberta on a limited basis at three of Calgary’s best wineshops: Bin 905, Metrovino and Kensington Wine Market.
Joie Release Party
Menus from an Orchard Table release party on Saturday June 2nd, 2007 2:00 - 4:00 pm at Marquis Wine Cellar (1034 Davie Street (at Burrard) in Vancouver). Please come out and celebrate the release of Heidi Noble’s new book. Heidi will be signing books, Michael will be hosting, Joie wines will be served and Quince will be catering the event with refreshments made from the book. Photographers Chris Mason Stearns and Craig Noble will be on hand to discuss the book. Craig will also be previewing a multimedia presentation of his new food documentary Tableland, starring many of the same agricultural heroes as Menus from an Orchard Tale.
Joie at Salt Tasting Room
Experience Joie at Salt Tasting Room in Vancouver’s Gastown (down Blood Alley). From May 28 to June 3, you will be able to enjoy a flight of Joie wines paired with a charcuterie board prepared from recipes in Menus from an Orchard Table.
