TAKE-OUT WINDOW OPEN AT RAINCITY GRILL

Vancouver, BC… Beach season is upon us and Raincity Grill is answering the call for delicious ‘on-the-go’ picnic options, sans styrofoam. Currently open Saturday and Sunday from 11am-7pm and starting June 1st open daily 11am-7pm, the take-out window at Raincity Grill is dishing out sandwiches and salads the sustainable way. Upping the green factor this year, Raincity Grill has chosen sugarcane fibre containers to hold their take-out goodies, and aspen wood cutlery from Lumby, BC to dig in with – both made from renewable resources.

This summer, drop by Raincity Grill to pick up some picnic staples like an ‘Oyama’ ham and gruyere cheese sandwich, organic potato salad and a sweet treat for just $9.95 (see menu below), and while you’re at it be sure to take note of the packaging. The boxes are 100% biodegradable and compostable, recyclable in the conventional paper stream, and produce no toxic release when incinerated, making them the obvious choice over other standard packaging options.

Locality, regionality, and seasonality comprise the West Coast concept that defines Raincity Grill. As a celebration of everything Vancouver, it only makes sense that the cuisine is dedicated to the bounty of our backyard as Chef de Cuisine, Andrea Carlson has demonstrated with her regional tasting menus. Carlson works with small lot farms around BC dedicated, like Raincity Grill, to products that are local, regional and seasonal.
