BC Hall of Fame Honours Members of the Restaurant Industry

BC RESTAURANT HALL OF FAME HONOURS EXCELLENCE AT 2007 GALA (From the press release.)
February 9, 2007 (Vancouver, BC) – On Monday, April 23rd, members of British Columbia’s culinary scene will gather to celebrate their finest at the third annual B.C. Restaurant Hall of Fame induction gala. The B.C. Hall of Restaurant Hall of Fame honours excellence in several categories, including Front of House, Back of House, Active Restaurateur, Friend of the Industry, and Pioneer in the Industry. In addition, this year, 2007, a Lifetime Achievement Category has been created. The 2007 Lifetime Achievement Inductee will be Bing Smith of Vitality Foodservices Canada Inc. Induction into the Hall of Fame is greatly treasured by successful nominees because it represents recognition from their peers: inductees are chosen by a coterie of voters including active restaurateurs, industry members, suppliers, and media. This year’s induction banquet will be held at the Vancouver Convention Centre’s Parkview Terrace. It is a black tie optional event, featuring a five-course dinner prepared by renowned Chef Blair Rasmussen. Each course will be paired with a complimentary wine. The 2007 Hall of Fame gala will benefit from the donations of Peller Estates, Sumac Ridge Estate Winery, Summerhill Pyramid Wineries, The Fort Wine Co., Hills Foods, English Bay Seafoods Scallops, Ponderosa Mushrooms, and Boyds Coffee. This highly-anticipated event sells out quickly, so get your tickets soon!
