49th PARALLEL COFFEE ROASTER OPENS GOURMET COFFEE HOUSE IN THE HEART OF KITSILANO

Vancouver, BC - 49th Parallel Coffee Roasters President Vince Piccolo has announced the opening of his coffee house located in the heart of Kitsilano. The upscale, coffee house is set in a stylish and modern ambience, offering espresso based coffee drinks, Clover coffee, high quality teas and fresh baked dolce. The café also offers a variety of products including whole bean coffee, custom branded ceramic coffee cups, French presses, an assortment of Bodum products, Chemex brewers, ANFIM grinders, cupping spoons and much more.

The specialty coffee house will conduct coffee cuppings for chefs, restauranteurs and coffee aficionados who would like to participate in a traditional style cupping to sample their select single origin coffees, including award winning auction lots. The cuppings will be lead by 49th Parallel’s in house coffee experts as an educational experience, to distinguish the coffees unique characteristics and to learn to develop their coffee palates.

Vince founded Caffe Artigiano in January 2000. After seeing an opportunity to better control the quality of the coffee beans they were using, he started his own roasting company, 49th Parallel Coffee Roasters. Along with his brother and Master Coffee Roaster Mike Piccolo, Vince began to explore new opportunities and source out the highest quality coffee beans in the world.

In October 2006, Vince decided to sell Caffe Artigiano so that he could his focus his efforts on 49th Parallel Coffee Roasters and expand the wholesale business. Today, with the opening of 49th Parallel Coffee House Vince is excited to showcase 49th Parallel coffee and products to consumers and wholesale customers alike, while still doing what he loves the most: “Coffee is what gets me up in the morning and gets me excited about going to work.�
