CHEF DAVE PASTERNACK OF NEW YORK'S ESCA COMING TO VANCOUVER

Chef Dave Pasternack's New York restaurant Esca has been hailed by critics from around the world, not only for the thrilling flavours of its seafood dishes, but for the encyclopedic knowledge and first-hand fishing experience that Dave brings to the kitchen. Anthony Bourdain has declared, "If I were strapped in the electric chair and facing a last meal of a sea creature, I would pray that Dave would be cooking it," while Gourmet editor Ruth Reichl contends, "On occasion, the food actually makes me vibrate with pleasure." Dave's first book, The Young Man & the Sea, features more than one hundred of his complexly flavoured yet simply prepared Italian-style recipes, including a section on crudo, the Italian-style sushi that he is responsible for introducing to North American diners.

Vancouver is, of course, lucky enough to possess a soul mate that shares Dave's passion for seafood. We are excited to announce that C Restaurant will be the elegant setting for a five-course dinner based on The Young Man & the Sea on Tuesday, September 18th. The evening will kick off with a cocktail reception at 6:00 pm, giving Dave a chance to chat with the crowd and sign books.
