HUNDRED FOOD DINNER IN SORRENTO

You've heard of the Hundred Mile Diet? For one night in July, feast on the Hundred Foot Diet.

On July 21, Crannóg Ales and Stellar Seeds host a Midsummer Feast at their farm and brewery in Sorrento. Picture long tables set with linen and crystal, outside beneath the cherry trees, surrounded by the gardens from which your dinner came. French meets fresh, in this inspired combination of local food and drink.

Chef and teacher Ed Walker from Thompson Rivers University Culinary Arts will prepare a five course meal from the freshest possible ingredients, pairing each course with a special beer from Crannóg Ales. Cherries, lamb, honeycomb and raspberries will find their place on our table, along with other featured ingredients by local producers, from rabbit to cream.

The art of cooking seasonally is at its peak in July, and Chef Walker will provide inspiration as well as delectation, while brewer Brian MacIsaac provides the liquid accompaniment. Bring dinner home with you for the next year with seeds from Stellar Seeds and a resource kit on buying local foods in season.

"We have so much fun creating dinner from whatever's at its peak in the garden, we had to share by hosting this feast," says Patrick Steiner of Stellar Seeds.
