BBQ CLASSES AT MISSION HILL FAMILY ESTATE

June 11, 2007 (Vancouver, BC) – Mission Hill Family Estate Winery invites you to join them for an outdoor cooking workshop. “Essentials of Grilling and Barbecue: A Celebration of Gourmet Backyard Cooking� will take place on both Saturday, June 30 and Sunday, July 1.

The class will be taught by Executive Chef, Michael Allemeier. Chef Allemeier will cover tools and equipment; rubs, sauces, and marinades; and proven techniques for quick and easy grilling as well as slow cooking. instruction will also incorporate elements of his South African culinary roots as well as influences from the southern United States and the Mediterranean.

The workshop itself will be held under a marquee tent in the Mission Hill Family Estate vineyard. Participants will enjoy the spectacular view along with samples of Chef Allemeier’s cuisine, paired with wines from the winery. At the end of the afternoon each workshop participant will receive a set of cedar grilling planks and a recipe kit to take home.

Cedar-Planked Sablefish with Bourbon-Maple Glaze

Bistecca alla Fiorentina with Arugula Salad
Whole Grilled Leg of Lamb with Eggplant and Peppers
Honey Planked Peaches with Rhubarb and Vidal Compote


WHERE: Mission Hill Family Estate, 1730 Mission Hill Road, Westbank, Okanagan Valley
