PLAYHOUSE INTERNATIONAL WINE FESTIVAL ANNOUNCES WITHDRAWAL OF WOLFGANG BLASS FROM THIS YEAR'S FESTIVAL
(Edited from the press release.)

Wolf Blass Wines advises, with regret, that founder Wolfgang Blass is unable to attend the Playhouse Winefest as planned. Scott Oliver, president and general manager of Wolf Blass Wines Canada, replaces Blass at events featuring Wolf Blass Wines. The Roam with Wolf, Reach for Gold dinner on March 27 otherwise remains unchanged in that it offers the same premium line-up of Wolf Blass Gold Label regional wines and a fantastic menu created by Nu Restaurant + Lounge. Buyers of the Roam with Wolf dinner will be contacted by the festival (or may contact 604-873-3311) and offered a refund.

As previously advised, James Halliday, a wine writer, judge and proprietor scheduled to represent Rosemount, has also withdrawn from the festival.

BC LIQUOR STORES' DRY GRAD FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN UNDERWAY
(Edited from the press release.)

BC Liquor Store customers can support dry grad celebrations in their communities by donating $1 at their government liquor store.

Now in its seventh year, BC Liquor Stores' Support Dry Grad campaign has raised more than $1.1 million towards alcohol-free grad celebrations. This year, 54 school districts are participating in the campaign. The contributions by liquor store customers top up funds raised by parents, students and teachers who work all year to raise funds for dry grads. All donations will be given to the local school district to be distributed to public high schools planning alcohol-free graduations.

The annual campaign is part of the Liquor Distribution Branch's public safety and social responsibility program to promote the responsible use of beverage alcohol - a program that includes the prevention of underage drinking and the promotion of zero consumption for minors. BC Liquor Stores are providing sample-sized packages of chocolates to customers as a thank-you for their donation. Last year, government liquor store customers donated a total of $403,351 in support of dry grad events. The Support Dry Grad fundraising campaign starts today and runs until the end of March.
