If you’ve been to one, you know exactly what to expect at the newest addition to the expanding empire of the Memphis Blues Barbecue House. For the uninitiated, that’d be mountains of pork, ribs, sausages, pulled pork, brisket, game hen, catfish, wings, shrimp, oysters, chili, and all the fixin’s such as pit beans, collard greens, potato salad, excellent fries and more. In other words, whatever spells BBQ.

Will the good patrician folk of North Vancouver be ready? Things are darn right casual here: belly up to the counter to order food and a nip of something from Park Heffelfinger’s truly excellent wine list, plus other good-with-barbecue bevvies like bourbon and beer.

For Memphis virgins, may we recommend the city’s best pig outs, er samplers, also known as the “Memphis Feast�, the “Elvis Platter� or best of all, the “Priscilla", a platter so challenging it should only be attempted by 10 to 12 people or a couple of BC Lions. Remember: “If it ain’t pink, it ain’t baah-be-cue. And if you must have salad, uh, most of all this can be piled on greens.

Eating with your hands is encouraged. That’s what that roll of paper towels on your table is for. Go git down ‘n get dirty.
