There are some women who thing nothing of wearing see-through blouses, and we have a friend, we think even braver, who walks around with a see-through plastic purse, but how many of us are daring enough to own a totally transparent refrigerator? -- like this prototype displayed at a recent appliance manufacturers' trade show in Tokyo.

There'd be no hiding the Cheez Whiz in that one. And wouldn't this just be too empowering for your Mother who always wants to know if you are eating your vegetables? On the other hand, you'd have a convenient early detection system if leftovers you've shoved to the back of the shelves start unionizing.
