Farmers Market Season Extended!
(
from the press release)
October 17, 2006 - Vancouver, B.C. – New This Year! Monthly Winter Farmers Markets begin Saturday, November 4 at the WISE Hall, 10am – 2pm and continue on the first Saturday of the month through April 2007.
Shoppers can look forward to seeing their favourite summer market vendors from the East Vancouver, West End and Riley Park Farmers Markets at this new event. Storage crops like potatoes, squash and apples will be in plenty as well as preserved fruit and vegetables, cheese, meat and seafood, baked goodies and a wide assortment of prepared food items. Because this market will be indoors, shoppers can browse the stalls in comfort even on cold and rainy winter days.
“It feels great to be able to extend the season for both our shoppers and our vendors-this market is a response to requests from both, says Supervising Market Manager Roberta LaQuaglia. “ We are excited to expand to the winter season and are looking forward to seeing the product selection change as we move toward spring.
Market dates are: November 4/06, December 2/06, January 6/07, February 3/07, March 3/07 and April 7/07. The WISE Hall is located at 1882 Adanac Street at Victoria Drive.
