The FarmFolk/CityFolk Society is getting ready to offer the 3rd annual Sea-to-Sky “Feast of Fields” - an interactive harvest festival. This year the event will take place on Saturday, August 30, 2008 at Rebagliatti Park in Whistler - a natural green space in the heart of Whistler village. Attendees will be able to explore and sample some of the finest local, organic offerings from top chefs, vintners, farmers and brewers of the Squamish to Pemberton region. Join members of BC’s commercial fishing industry, chefs and seafood experts as they demonstrate wild BC seafood recipes and provide tips on buying, storing, preparing and eating wild BC seafood. Sample their creations and receive copies of the featured recipes to try at home! This year’s chefs include: Jeff Van Geest (Aurora Bistro); Manuel Ferreira ( Le Gavroche /Senova Restaurants,); and, Stephen Wong (cookbook author). Kosta Zogaris, fishmonger from The Salmon Shop and Screaming Mimi’s in North Vancouver’s Lonsdale Quay Market, will add nformation and enthusiasm as the cooking stage MC. Other event activities include creations prepared by Vancouver's Classic Smokehouse; wild BC salmon, sablefish and sardines for sale direct from fishermen at the Steveston dock; kids’ activities; and live entertainment by Richmond’s Darren Specht and the Blueshawks.
